Julie Hwang-Rowland, L.Ac., MSOM
Julie Hwang-Rowland, L.Ac., fell in love with Chinese medicine because its tenets articulately echo how she strives to live her life, both in philosophy and in action, while also allowing her to help others. Since beginning her studies, the combination of acupuncture, herbs, qigong (breathing and movement exercises), tuina (Chinese massage), and lifestyle adjustments have helped her to heal over and over again, from emotional trauma to physical sickness and injuries. Julie graduated with a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) and Certificate of Advanced Studies from the Classical Chinese Medicine program of the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, OR in 2006. Outside of school, she has further studied classical herbal medicine with Dr. Heiner Fruehauf, Ph.D, L.Ac., Neijing classical acupuncture with Dr. Edward Neal, MD, L.Ac., and Five Element Acupuncture with David Berkshire, L.Ac. When not in the treatment room, Julie can be found attending her other passions: climbing rocks, drinking old tea, eating great meals with friends, and playing with her puppy.
Julie has her Bachelor of Arts through Davidson University and Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) with a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Classical Chinese Medicine from the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM). This extraordinary school is one of the leading academic influences in the renaissance of classical acupuncture and herbalism.
She also has a license of acupuncture from the state of Kentucky, and has her national acupuncture certification through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
