Ingredients:

  • Hou Po (Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis)
  • Jue Ming Zi (Semen Cassiae)
  • Tao Ren (Semen Persicae)
  • Ku Xing Ren (Semen Armeniacae Am)
  • Yu Li Ren (Semen Pruni)
  • Zhi Shi (Fructus Aurantii Immaturus)
  • Bai Zi Ren (Semen Platycladi)
  • Da Huang (Rx/Rz Rhei)
  • Mai Dong (Radix Ophiopogonis)
  • Xuan Shen (Radix Scrophulariae)
  • Bai Shao (Radix Paeoniae Alba)
  • Dang Gui Wei (Ext/Rx Angelicae Sinensis)
  • He Shou Wu (Radix Polygoni Multiflori)

Dosage: Take 4 capsules three times daily.

Cautions: Individuals with a sensitive gastrointestinal tract should take this formula with caution, as it may be irritating to the stomach and intestinal mucosa.

A more serious etiology should be suspected if the constipation is accompanied by vomiting, blood in the stools, weight loss, or a distended, tympanitic abdomen.

Patients who are on anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapies, such as Coumadin (warfarin), should use this formula with caution, or not at all, as there may be a higher risk of bleeding and bruising.

Due to medical risks and legal liabilities, it is prudent to exercise caution and not use this formula in patients with pre-existing or risk factors for liver disease.
