- Dang Gui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis)
- Fu Ling (Poria)
- Huang Qi (Radix Astragali)
- Shan Yao (Rhizoma Dioscoreae)
- Shu Di Huang (Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata)
- Xi Yang Shen (Radix Panacis Quinquefolii)
- Wu Wei Zi (Fructus Schisandrae Chinensis)
- Chuan Xiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong)
- Gui Xin (Cortex Rasus Cinnamomi)
- Da Zao (Fructus Jujubae)
- Sheng Jiang (Rz Zingiberis Recens)
- Zhi Gan Cao (Rx/Rz Glycyrrhizae Praeparata)
Dosage: Take 2 to 4 capsules three times daily.
Cautions: This formula is safe for long-term use. However, because it is a warm formula, it should be reduced in dosage or discontinued if it causes side effects characterized by heat, such as dry mouth, thirst, and nosebleeds.
Since this formula may stimulate the immune system, it should be used with extreme caution in patients who have autoimmune disease or take immune suppressant drugs after organ transplant.
This herbal formula contains herbs that invigorate blood circulation. Therefore, patients who are on anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapies, such as Coumadin (warfarin), should use this formula with caution, or not at all, as there may be a higher risk of bleeding and bruising.
